The II International Conference on “Historical Geography of Central Asia: Time, Space, and Memory” aims to explore the evolving narratives that contribute to reconceptualizing the historical geography of the region. With increasing research interest, historical geography has expanded in both scope and methodology. The reinterpretation of historical sources, coupled with innovative analytical approaches, has revitalized scholarly inquiry.
The conference aims to foster interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary discussions, offering a dynamic platform for scholars to engage with new perspectives. It will bring together local and international scholars to discuss and promote a deeper understanding of the region’s historical evolution, spatial dynamics, and national history.

Format: The conference will include keynote speeches, panel discussions, and paper presentations and will be held in a hybrid format (online and offline).
Working language: Kazakh, English, Russian.
Publication opportunities: A volume of conference proceedings is planned to be published. All full papers submitted for the conference proceedings must adhere to the submission guidelines and will undergo a double-blind review process as well as an anti-plagiarism check.
Submission Guidelines:
An abstract of no more than 250 words should be submitted to eri-project@ayu.edu.kz.
Authors also are invited to submit original research papers for the Conference Proceedings via eri-project@ayu.edu.kz. Full-length papers should be written in not less than 4000 words, including references, tables, and figures and formatted according to the APA 7th edition style.
Submissions should be original and not previously published or under review elsewhere.
Participation Conditions: There is no conference fee. Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel itinerary. Accommodation will be provided by the organizers upon request.
